Our item of the month for April pairs with our March item. In fact, they’re both featured together in our Allergy Support Wellness Kit.
Sinus Minus is popular during cold & flu season in the winter, as well as during allergy season in the Spring. It’s also commonly used to help with relief from asthma symptoms. Our customers love it as a natural alternative to other sinus & hayfever products. When combined with ALRG and ViraMune in our Allergy Support Kit, these products work to target the root cause of allergies.
What’s In It?
This combination of herbs was selected to help dry up & expel mucous as well as heal and soothe mucous membranes.
Yerba Santa is a shrub found in California and Mexico. It is commonly used to treat respiratory conditions such as bronchial congestion, asthma and hayfever. (this is NOT the same as the popular beverage yerba mate) We also use Yerba Santa in ASMA.
Mullein is a common weed beloved by herbalists. With a wide range of traditional uses, we add it to this blend for its propensity towards healing respiratory problems, soothing cough and protecting damaged tissues. It is also naturally antibiotic and is featured in many of our products including Lungs Plus and Hear No Evil.
Green Stevia is a calorie-free natural sweetener which is known to be 3o-200 times sweeter than sugar (depending on variety). As an antioxidant and antibacterial herb, Stevia doesn’t just add a pleasant flavor to this formula. We also add Stevia to Blue Green Minerals herbal multi-vitamin.
Fennel, the common cooking herb, not only lends a delicious flavor to this blend, but also has an affinity for soothing mucous membranes. Also found in Colic Relief, MegaMam and other formulas.
Echinacea Angustifolia & Goldenseal are two of the more well-known herbs. These herbs are both traditionally used for their antibiotic properties as well as immune support function. One, or both, of these herbs are found in over 15 of our products. You’ll find them together in Triple Echinacea & Goldenseal, and Soothing Salve among others.
Usnea contains mucilage which is the same unique property marshmallow root contains. This is a somewhat gelatinous, thick fluid secreted by the plant which is known to be soothing for mucous membranes. Usnea is also found in Mastitix.
Ginger Root is another common kitchen staple. Naturally antibiotic, and soothing during coughs, colds, flu, etc. Ginger is a popular home remedy during allergy season as well. We add ginger to many products including NR Glow and Morning Soothe.
Product Note from TriLight Health Founder and Herbalist Lyle Bennett:
Use near the end of cold/flu if you need to dry up the sinus cavity where mucus and bacteria hide. It will penetrate, loosen, then start to dry up. This can take up to three days total. Do not eat dairy, sugars, or foods you are allergic to because this will cause more mucus, ie: corn, wheat, cheese, milk, fruits etc. Try a little garlic steeped in veggy soup. Allergy sufferers may use to just dry up the runny nose.
